Model T Deluxe - White Limba

This guitar is basically the same as the previous White  Limba drop-top T's except that instead of a natural finish this one was done in a Caramel color (same that I do on the Black Limba T's sometimes).  Rather a nice effect.

 Six-string Standard, Upgrade top

Another very nice looking standard made recently.  On this one I left off the raised control panel just for a change.  It's got Wolfetone pickups, TonePros bridge and Sperzel locking tuners.
A really good looking guitar, great sound!

Model T Deluxe - matching pair.

Here is a very nice matching pair.  Both guitars are White Limba (Korina) with Curly Maple "drop-tops." The necks are also White Limba with East Indian Rosewood fingerboards and triple-dot inlays.  Both guitars are fully bound with Ivoroid.  I've used Lindy Fralin humbuckers on these instead of my normal P90s.  The bridges are TonePros and the tuners are Grovers.  The pickguards were an afterthought which turned out extremely well if I may say so..  Good sounding instruments!

(sold in Sept. 2007)

 Custom solid body
This unique guitar was based on my "Al Anderson" model but with the lower horn elongated.  The body on this guitar is Honduras Mahogany with a Maple top and matching Maple back.  As you can see, there is no binding on the body, but the neck and head-stock are bound with Curly Maple.  My customer requested that the neck be oil and wax finished to give it a nice, "woody" feel and to highlight the Curly Maple grain in the neck.  The fingerboard is a rather interesting piece of Brazilian Rosewood, which is inlaid with  Japanese Maple leaves in various colored pearl.  I used Wolfetone Marshallhead pickups which are both coil tapped with a push/pull control on the tone.  It has a Pigtail Aluminum bridge and Sperzel locking tuners.   Sounded amazing!

6-string Standard, Curly Redwood top

This is more or less a "stock" Standard except for the Northern California Curly Redwood top, which looks extremely good under the Tiger-eye finish.  The Mahogany back and neck on this guitar are stained a rich golden brown to compliment the front.  It has an East Indian Rosewood fingerboard and head veneer, and the whole guitar is bound in Cream Celluloid.  I used Voodoo 59' humbuckers here, a TonePros bridge and Grover tuners - all in gold.
Nice guitar!

 Model T Custom

Anybody in the Southern hemisphere will probably spot the Southern Cross inlay on the fingerboard of this Custom Model T.  I used Black Limba for the neck and body on this guitar, and a very dark South American Rosewood fingerboard.  Instead of my regular pickguard, the customer wanted just an outline of a pickguard which continued around the side and onto the back.  This shape was made by inlaying black and white binding materials as a boarder, and then the inside area was stained a darker transparent color.  Rather an interesting concept, I would say.

 Custom 6-string
Standard Hollow-bodies    This is not four pictures of the same guitar, but a set of four "identical" instruments ordered as an aniversary presentation to a well-known Japanese band.  All four guitars have tops from the same plank of Maple, Mahogany bodies and necks from the same board and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards and head veneers.  They are all fully bound with Abalone and multiple black and white borders.  I've used Wolfetone pickups on all of them, and they all have Grover tuners and Wilkinson bridges. They all looked gorgeous, and it's kind of mind-bending to see them all together...

 Model T Deluxe

At first glance, this might appear to be a Standard, but the quarter-inch Laminate front is flat (uncarved).  The rest of the guitar is built like a regular Model T.  The wood on the top came from a unique piece of 100-year old Douglas Fir which was taken out of an old building.  I've never seen anything quite like this!

The body is African Mahogany and the neck is Honduras mahogany and Maple.  It has an East Indian Rosewood FB and head veneer, and the whole guitar is bound in cream celluloid.  For a change, I've used Amalfitano pickups, which have been getting a lot of good reviews lately.  The guitar also has a TonePros bridge and Grover tuners.  I think that the overall appearance of this guitar is quite stunning.

  Custom 6-string Standard, Quilt top

As you can see, the very pretty AAA quilt really makes a statement on this guitar.  The back is no less interesting as this is all White Limba with the same rich burst.  The neck is  White Limba, laminated with Curly Maple and Black Limba topped off with an Ebony fingerboard with snowflake inlays.  All of the binding is multiple black and white with a black outer binding (which unfortunately does not show up against black background).
The pickups on this guitar are Wolfetone Dr. Vintage, which run through a 5-way rotary selector instead of the normal 3-way toggle.  I've used locking Grover Rotomatic tuners with Ebony buttons, a Tonepros bridge and black J-bass control knobs.
A gorgeous package with character to spare!

 Custom Macro, with Skyway tremelo

I don't make too many guitars with tremelos, so this custom order was an interesting project.  The Skyway system is extremely good, and I look forward to using more of these.  The guitar itself is very good looking, with a quarter-sawn, tight curly Maple top.  We used a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with snowflake inlays and a Brazilian Rosewood head veneer.  The back of the body and the thru-neck are made of Black Limba, which has been finished in a transparent "Caramel" color which does very well on this wood.  It has Harmonic Design Z90 pickups with Tortoise shell covers  which are wired through two volume controls and no tone control.  The whole guitar is bound in cream and the front is finished in a "Rich Amber burst."
Very nice!!
